What Dog Breed? Find The Best Breeds With This Tool
Miniature dog breeds,
large dog breeds, toy dog breeds... With so many different types, how do you choose the one for you? A free new
tool helps anyone find.
Update: This tool is no longer available. However, please watch the video below and let us know if
it would have been useful to you.
Well if you're in that exact conundrum, asking yourself "what type of dog shall I get", you're in for a real
treat. Bing (the search engine) have come to your rescue. You may have heard of this already. If you're a heavy
Google user though it's quite likely you haven't.
So why is this tool something you should try?
- It's free
- It's fast
- It's visual - all the breeds have clear photos.
You can use 14 different filters, from the chracteristics of certain dogs to the likelihood of the dog to
aggrevate any existing allergies you may have!
It's the dog breed finder we've always been waiting for. So let's give it a try it with some typical
personas...

ExperimentSee below the video for the personas I talk about and the recommendations. Click play
and follow along!
Jack & Jill are a retired couple who would love a furry companion. As they live in
a modest bungalow they'd like a small dog who is calm and friendly.
Recommended Breeds: Pug, Australian Terrier, Bassett Hound, Boston Terrier (maybe a little too
active?), Parson Russell Terrier.
My choice for Jack & Jill: Pug
Mark is a middle aged batchelor who's a homeowner with a medium size garden. Mark wants
a dog to match his macho image. He thinks a dog that barks when someone is coming up the drive is doing it's job as
a guard.
Recommended Breeds: Chespeake Bay, Curly Coated Retriever, German Shorthaired, Weimeraner
My choice for Mark: Weimeraner
Charlie and Liz are in their early 30's and newly married. They like long walks in the
countryside and so they want a dog that relishes this too.
Recommended Breed: Viszla
My choice for Charlie and Liz: It has to be the Viszla

That's the current top 10 at Bing. I was surprised by the Chihuahua's lifespan of 18 years - 8 years longer than a
bulldog. There's a lot more information that's just as interesting, try out the tool and see for yourself.
OK, so Bing doesn't have a list of all the dog breeds but it does have 159 at the moment and that may grow.
